December Board Meeting tidbits

We’ll have a Roundtable meeting in December, so start thinking about your breakthroughs to share with all of us.

Family Finder link at www.ujgs.org now working. Please email your family names, places, dates so they can be included.

Handouts at our website above have been updated to include the most recent, in the Members section.

We can post articles on our website, so perhaps you have one (or more) to share.

Still need Social Media person for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and other online notices and photos of our activities.

We’d like to acknowledge our members for accomplishment in 2023. All will be posted on our website so everyone will know about your successes. Share news about another member or yourself!

19 Dec 2023 at 7pm

Everyone Welcome!

Remember to pay your dues for 2024 at our website at www.ujgs.org through the “Join Us” tab at the top.

We’re still looking for someone with internet experience to handle our Facebook page and our meeting notices on JewishGen and other locations. Also to create a YouTube paywall for our members to see past meeting videos. This is a part of our Publicity Committee.

Also looking for an Activities Chairperson to schedule program speakers, beginning genealogy classes (live and virtual?), country specific research, etc.

Thanks to Banai, handouts for our previous meetings are posted in our Member section at www.ujgs.org.

Officers and Board Chairs will present their reports. We’ll discuss upcoming speakers, programs, and other items of interest. Zoom link: https://ancestry.zoom.us/j/92648802718?pwd=NzhEcXB2ckNLcHVsRFF3YklTbnNOUT09

Jewish Community Security Town Hall meeting, forwarded from United Jewish Federation of Utah

Hi all,

Thanks to all of you have joined our various programs throughout the year – and even thanks to all of you who aren’t able to join us, but read our emails and allow us to continue to send you information. I am grateful to each of you for the way you support the Federation and our work in building and advocating for a strong and vibrant Jewish community in Utah.

Before I wish you a happy holiday, I want to share important information about our upcoming Community Security Towne Hall scheduled for the evening of December 6th at the JCC. We’ll be using this event to formally introduce Dave McKean, our new community security advisor, to our community as well as to receive security updates and presentations from the Summit County Sherriff, Salt Lake Police Department, Secure Community Network, FBI and the United States Attorney’s office. (please see graphic attached for individuals attending). We’re very fortunate to have such strong support from our law enforcement community. In addition, following the 6:30pm program, Dave will be leading an Active Threat Training at 7:30pm for those who want to join. Please note the details below and again the graphic attached for the individuals attending . I’d very much enjoy seeing you there.

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and peaceful thanksgiving holiday.

Meeting reminder, 21 Nov 2023, 6:30 PM at FamilySearch Library

Elections! If you can help, we really need a treasurer! Josh’s responsibilities at work keep him from continuing in that position. If you aren’t a member yet, there’s still time. Join us at www.ujgs.org.

Michael Strauss from Ancestry ProGenealogists will speak on ICAPGen. This meeting will be held at the FamilySearch Library in Classroom C at 6:30. It will also be a Zoom meeting, link to follow.

Yes, this topic is really only of interest to those who are or plan to become professional researchers, I hope that as many people as possible attend this meeting to show their support for UJGS and to take part in elections. Thanks!
